Data Methodology — Complete Documentation
Every number on this site originates from a documented process. This page provides the full specification of our evaluation framework so readers can assess the rigour behind our conclusions.
Evaluation Framework Overview
Our scoring system evaluates casino platforms across four weighted pillars. The weighting reflects our assessment of each category's impact on the player experience, with transaction reliability receiving the highest emphasis based on reader feedback indicating that payout speed and reliability are the top selection criteria.
| Pillar | Weight | Key Metrics |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction Verification | 40% | Withdrawal speed, success rate, fee transparency |
| Support & Security | 25% | Response times, resolution quality, encryption, 2FA |
| Game Catalogue | 20% | Library size, provider diversity, RTP accuracy |
| UX & Mobile | 15% | Load times, touch compliance, PWA support |
Pillar 1: Transaction Verification (40%)
This pillar carries the highest weighting because withdrawal reliability directly impacts the core player experience — the ability to access winnings. Our testing protocol proceeds as follows:
Test Design
- Each platform receives a minimum of 20 withdrawal tests, with higher-ranked platforms receiving 35-47 tests for increased statistical confidence.
- Tests span all available payment methods at each platform.
- Transaction amounts vary from $50 to $2,000 to assess consistency across withdrawal sizes.
- Tests are distributed across weekdays and weekends to capture processing pattern variations.
- A 60-day minimum testing window ensures results reflect sustained operational patterns rather than snapshot conditions.
Data Collection
For each transaction, we record: request timestamp, confirmation timestamp, funds-received timestamp, stated versus actual processing time, any error messages or required actions, and fees charged. The 327 transactions in our current dataset generated 2,289 individual data points that feed into the scoring algorithm.
Scoring Calculation
The transaction score derives from three sub-metrics: median processing speed (50% of pillar score), success rate (35% of pillar score), and fee transparency (15% of pillar score). A platform achieving sub-6-hour median crypto processing with 99%+ success rate and zero fees would achieve full marks in this pillar.
Pillar 2: Support & Security Assessment (25%)
This pillar evaluates two interrelated aspects: customer support quality and platform security infrastructure.
Support Testing Protocol
- 120+ support interactions per platform across available channels (live chat, email, phone).
- Interactions follow 15 standardised scenarios covering account queries, bonus terms, withdrawal issues, and responsible gambling requests.
- Response time measurement begins at message submission and ends at first substantive reply (automated acknowledgements excluded).
- Resolution accuracy assessed against predetermined correct answers for each scenario.
Security Assessment
- SSL/TLS implementation verified using automated scanning tools.
- Authentication options documented and tested.
- Fund segregation policies assessed through published documentation and direct enquiry.
- Fair play certifications verified against issuing authority databases.
- Responsible gambling tool functionality tested against a 15-point compliance checklist.
Pillar 3: Game Catalogue Audit (20%)
A comprehensive inventory of every available game title across all platforms.
Audit Process
- Every listed title is loaded and verified for functionality.
- Provider attribution confirmed against official distributor databases.
- RTP values spot-checked on a stratified random sample of 50 titles per platform.
- New title addition rate tracked over the testing window.
- Mobile compatibility verified for titles in the sample set.
Scoring Factors
Library size contributes 40% of the pillar score, provider diversity 30%, RTP accuracy 20%, and catalogue freshness (new title addition rate) 10%.
Pillar 4: User Experience & Mobile (15%)
Technical performance assessment across desktop and mobile environments.
Testing Hardware
All platforms tested on a standardised hardware matrix: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy S24, Google Pixel 8, iPad Air M2, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9. Desktop testing conducted on a 2024 MacBook Pro (M3) via Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
Metrics Collected
- Page load time (DOMContentLoaded and full load) over 4G mobile and fibre broadband.
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) measurements.
- Touch target dimensions assessed against WCAG 2.1 AA minimum (44x44 CSS pixels).
- Navigation depth analysis — measuring taps required to reach key functions from the home screen.
- PWA installation and offline functionality testing where applicable.
Score Aggregation
Each pillar produces a score between 0 and 100. The final platform score is the weighted average: (Transaction × 0.40) + (Support/Security × 0.25) + (Games × 0.20) + (UX/Mobile × 0.15). Scores are rounded to the nearest whole number. The resulting scores for our Q2 2026 assessment range from 79% (Goldspin) to 97% (BetNinja).
Limitations & Disclosures
- Our testing programme, while comprehensive, represents a finite sample. Individual player experiences may differ from our documented results.
- Platform performance can change between our quarterly evaluations. We monitor for significant changes but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.
- Commercial relationships exist between Aussie Casino Insider and some ranked operators. These relationships fund our testing programme but do not influence scoring. Our methodology is applied identically regardless of commercial arrangement.
- Testing is conducted from Australian IP addresses. Players in other jurisdictions may experience different conditions.
Questions about our methodology are welcomed. This documentation was last updated March 2026 to reflect our Q2 2026 assessment cycle protocols. Previous methodology versions are available upon request.
